Brewery Apprentices Donate for a Good Cause

The apprentices of the Weihenstephan brewery sold all kinds of fan articles and delicacies for a good cause at an auction at the Christmas party. 1000 euros in proceeds were raised for the Freising cancer charity “Krebshilfe Freising Maria & Christoph” and the donation was recently handed over.

The brewery apprentices came up with something very special this year to provide support for cancer patients. In preparation for the auction the apprentices were busy collecting the many prizes before the festive event – Christmas tree baubles, a tray with various schnapps, Christmas cookies or also a cake with the Weihenstephan emblem. And on the evening of the Christmas party, the Weihenstephan family was in the mood for donating. The tireless apprentices collected over 900 euros and without further ado, the Bavarian State Brewery rounded up the total to 1000 euros.

The cheque was handed over by Brewery Director Prof. Dr. Josef Schrädler (on the right) together with the apprentices (from left to right) Paul Rentz, Sue-Ann Wolter and Simon Bauer to Dr. Heino Pause from Maria & Christoph.

The proceeds go to “Krebshilfe Freising Maria & Christoph”, a charity in Freising providing support for those affected by the disease. It assists families with their day-to-day needs and no matter in what stage the disease may be, it is important for the charity that they can assist people irrespective of their income. The offerings of the charity can be very different: from music therapy to nutritional advice to psycho-oncology – with Maria & Christoph cancer patients are in the best hands.
