1 dry bread roll, 200-300 ml Weihenstephaner Original Helles or Festbier, 500 g ground meat (blend of beef and pork), 1 onion, 1 egg, salt, pepper, parsley, 1 tsp mustard
Place the roll into a dish and soak in as much Weihenstephaner Original Helles or Festbier as necessary to soften the roll. Then squeeze out the roll and add to the ground meat that has been prepared in a dish. Finely chop the onions and add to the ground meat. Next, mix 100 ml Weihenstephaner Original Helles with the egg, salt and pepper and pour on to the ground meat. Now season to taste with the spices and finely chopped parsley. Optional: for those who like it a little hotter, add some chili powder.
Now knead all the ingredients by hand and as soon as the mixture is well mixed, form into burgers. Place plenty of butter or lard into a frying pan and preheat. Now put the burgers into the preheated fat making sure it doesn´t become too hot. Fry on both sides until golden brown. Serve with potatoes and cucumber salad and enjoy!
