Precious metal once again: Highest honors have been bestowed upon our Weizenbock Vitus.
Great success in the USA: Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan has once again won an award at the highly competitive World Beer Cup in Indianapolis. The Weizenbock Vitus was awarded the bronze medal.
The Weihenstephan brewery has been taking part in the World Beer Cup for many years - and winning a medal there is always a great achievement. For good reason: there is exactly one gold, silver and bronze medal per beer style. The Weizenbock Vitus made it into the top 3 in the world in the “South German Style Weizenbock” category.
Brand Ambassador Matthias Ebner was right there in Indianapolis to accept the award - and was proud that Weihenstephan was able to prevail: “Over 8,000 beers from almost 2,000 breweries from around 50 nations are taking part here. To receive a medal is a great achievement.” 265 jurors - experts from the industry - tasted the registered beers over a period of two weeks.
Prof. Dr. Josef Schrädler, Director of the Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan, expressed his satisfaction: “With this success, we are continuing our precious metal series at the World Beer Cup. Once again, the high quality of our beers has been confirmed.”
Head Brewmaster Tobias Zollo explains that the success comes down to the brewers and the taste profile of Vitus: “Our team is taking great pride in the fact that our Weizenbock tastes like a fruity wheat beer despite its 7.7% and thus attracts attention time and time again.” Vitus has won prizes at almost every prestigious beer competition in the world - the medal at the World Beer Cup is the next chapter in this successful story.
